Tamarkin Camera

My relationship with Dan Tamarkin and the team at Tamarkin Camera in Chicago is one built on a foundation of deep professional respect and mutual trust. Over the years, Dan has shown immense belief in my expertise, graciously opening his doors and entrusting me to lead photography workshops at his iconic location. This collaboration is a point of great pride for me, as it reflects a shared commitment to the craft and the community. The support extends beyond the classroom; Dan has been a vital resource in providing the Leica camera equipment that fuels my work. When it comes to the nuances of Leica – from the timeless mechanical feel of their film bodies to the cutting-edge precision of their digital systems – I place my full trust in Dan’s unparalleled knowledge. I am incredibly grateful for his continued belief in my vision and for a partnership that remains an essential part of my professional journey.

Lux Photo Lab

My relationship with Lux Photo Lab is rooted in a shared passion for the tangible power of the printed image. I first met the owner, Emilio Lanzagorta, during one of my photography workshops in Chicago. What began as a standard instructor-student introduction quickly evolved into a series of deep, ongoing conversations about the soul of our craft. We found common ground in the belief that a photograph isn’t truly finished until it exists in the physical world. For Emilio and me, printing is more than just a technical step; it is the act of securing your artistic legacy. In an era of fleeting digital files, Emilio’s dedication to high-end lab work ensures that stories are preserved for generations. I am deeply honored that Emilio is featuring my “Viñales Valley: The Tobacco Heartland of Cuba” images in the upcoming issue of the Light & Paper Magazine. This collaboration represents the beginning of a meaningful professional bond, and I am incredibly grateful for Emilio’s support and the creative synergy we continue to build together.
